You should already have 21 quotations and 21 pictures, three quotations and three pictures for each type of the seven loves.
Now you need to have 7 pieces of writing, one for each type of love. The writing is a reflection piece about that type of love and why it is important to you. Email me with any questions. Don't forget to submit your quotations via Google Classroom.
1. Has anyone ever done an unexpected kindness for you that made a real difference in your life? Did you feel grateful? How did you express your gratitude? Was it hard for you to accept that kindness?
2. What emotion does Arlene frequently exhibit? Why do you think she does? What inferences can you make about Arlene’s past and the person she is now? 3. Why do you think Jerry hasn’t shown back up to work? Do you think he was sincere when he told Trevor that “if you go with me, you won’t be sorry.”? Explain. Send me any questions you would like to add via email and receive additional points if they are posted! Check your email--you should have an assignment via Google Classroom. Please turn in through Google Classroom once you have finished.
All should have read pages 1 - 20. Remember that you must answer one set of questions given on Padlet and make a comment on someone else's answer.
When you answer the set of questions, make sure your title matches the title I've given that set of questions. Sign in with your school email through the Google button so I know who made the comment. You also have the ability to "like" multiple answers. Padlet Link: padlet.com/jmillican/fzhgck3uoglm Students are going to pick their home country and 1 - 2 propaganda elements to utilize, and then design a propaganda poster for total war. Students must also turn in a one paragraph outline of the thought process behind the poster with reference to the propaganda element(s) utilized and what emotion the poster is attempting to evince. The poster itself can either be a digital construction or drawn on a 8.5” x 14” sheet of paper and photographed. Point scale as follows:
1. 10pts – Poster composition (limited white space, more than 3 colors used, some degree of effort to make aesthetically pleasing) 2. 10pts – Poster clearly works to persuade the viewer through emotion and that emotion is identified in the paragraph 3. 10pts – Propaganda element(s) utilized are identified in paragraph and reflected in poster +5 pts extra credit to use Google Translate to create the poster in the home country’s language (provided it’s not English) *We will schedule times for this presentation via email. 1. On page 10 Reuben was "both grateful for and resentful of their silence." Later on, in an autobiographical sketch, Reuben states on page 17 about his face that "If they suddenly did [ask], and I were forced to repeat the story, I might decide I liked things better before [when they didn't ask]." Is it fair for Reuben to want people to react a certain way to his face without telling them what he wants? Is Reuben himself, even sure what sort of reaction he wants? Explain.
2. What do you think of Reuben's extra credit assignment? Is it actually meant to produce an idea that will change the world? Trevor says in his journal he isn't sure why he is going to do the assignment--why do you think he is? Would you do this assignment if given?
