Assuming that an individual is indeed born as a tabula rusa, or blank slate, what events in Frederick Douglass’s life helped fill his slate? Tell me at least 3 personality traits you think that Frederick Douglass had, and what event(s) led to those traits.

Look at the first map you’ve been sent via Google Slides. It shows the most popular music by county (or major city), using colored dots. The size of the dot represents the number of people in that county/major city. This is simply one way of making a map to show information about people through geography.
The next map shows the size of Napoleon’s army, by the width of the line, when he invaded Russia in 1812. There are dates listed along the colored line (colored brown for the invasion and black for the retreat) that show the chronological progression alongside the geographical progression. Again, another way of making a map to show information about people through geography. Your task is to create a map of your own design about a topic that interests you. The map must show the United States only (ask me about exceptions). It must be about a topic that interests you that you can look up information for. You will receive points for the following criteria: 10 points for checking in on January 8th with your idea for the map 20 points for providing a correctly formatted works cited list (per MLA) 25 points for creating a map on a 11”x14” sheet of paper, based on research, that displays information about a topic that interests you, and has at least 3 colors 25 points for an accompanying paragraph that explains what the information is that you are showing, why you chose to represent it the way you did, and why this topic is important to you (attach the MLA list to this paper) |
