Have any of you ever read a Choose Your Own Adventure book? Well that's what we will be working on for the next couple of weeks. This week you will write a very simple one that has only two endings. I've included a link at the bottom of these instructions that has an interactive online Choose Your Own Adventure in case you've never seen one.
Please note that the story is written in second person (You). This is a difficult point of view, because it isn't natural to tell an entire story to someone in this fashion. You will need to review your work to make sure it is written correctly. Your assignment is to write 3 pages. At the end of the first page there must be a choice that leads to either page 2 or page 3, each having different endings. If you don't complete a page and need to move on to the next part of the story, then select insert>break>page break. I've also included a narrative map of the first ever Choose Your Own Adventure book written. It give you an idea of how complex the stories can be. Please email me if you have any questions or attend our Monday Zoom meeting (there will be no webquest on Monday). http://www.halfbakedsoftware.com/quandary/version_2/examples/castaway.htm The Padlet has been emailed to you for discussion :)
1. Why does Mami hit Ana Rosa? I don’t want to know the words Ana Rosa said, I want to know the deeper reason behind why you think Mami hit Ana Rosa on wash day? Did Ana Rosa deserve some sort of punishment? 2. Why does Mami call Guario, Jefe? What exactly is he the boss of? Who would be the Jefe in your family and why? 3. What does Ana Rosa mean when she says “the whole world tilted for the first time away from me”? Why is it different this time when Guario says he wants a future? How would you describe the relationship between Ana Rosa and her brother? Do you have a relationship like this with anyone? Check your email for your basket assignment from Google Classroom.
